2010 Year 10 Art / Drawing / Light Vs. Darkness

Students are to interpret their understanding from the Bible verse “John 1:5 (Phi) The light still shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out”. They have to use charcoal as medium to manipulate still life object, light bulbs in their response. They have to demonstrate their understanding of elements and principles of art.

Year 10 Media Studies / Election Campaign Movies

Students are to make election movies of themselves. During this process, students will understand how stereotypes and social values are important in making image representation.

2010 Year 8 Media Studies / Christian Children Television Program

During Year 8 Media Studies, students have to create a 15 minute Christian television program for children. This is their first attempt in making a program. Students will understand the various roles in making a television program.

2010 Year 10 Introduction to Drawings



Year 10 students are asked to sketch their friends' portraits with their non-preferred hands and without lifting their pencils. This task allows students to draw without referring to portrait stereotypes and concentrate portraits as mere lines.
Cindy drew the abovementioned drawing.

2009 Year 7 Putting yourself in the shoes of others

Students are to make shoes/ slippers with cardboard. They have to pay tribute to their parents by highlighting the uniqueness of them.

2009 Year 7 Sir David Attenborough according to Arcimboldo

What if legendary imaginative Italian painter, Giuseppe Arcimboldo drew well-known naturalist, Sir David Attenborough’s portrait? Students are to research Arcimboldo’s style of work and make a portrait drawing of Attenborough

2009 Year 7 Straw Sculpture

Students are to create standing sculpture with drinking straws and limited number of paper clips. Students are encouraged to investigate connecting straws together without the aid of paper clips.

2009 Year 7 Mona Lisa's Day Out

What if Mona Lisa was given a day’s break from the over-protective Louvre Museum? What would she have done? Students are to imagine and make interpretation from Mona Lisa’s face.

2009 Year 7 Repetitive Objects

Students are to make repetitive objects painting with acrylic paint. They have to overlap with repetitive objects and apply complementary/ split-complementary colour schemes .

2009 Year 7 Bizarre Fruits

Students are to make fruit drawing with colour pencil. They have to combine two different fruits together to create a new breed of fruit.

2009 Year 7 Bugs' World

Students are assigned to make bug drawing with pencil. They have to include a small abstract photocopied texture (image from a breakfast cereal) as part of their bug drawings.
